Wide-Legged Jeans, Naps, Dreams, Beautiful Allergens

As I think I mentioned last time, I am trying out some wide-legged trousers, including a pair of jeans!  Some are more successful than others, and some remind me why buying clothes is kind of awful.  (Same brand, same size [allegedly], totally different fit.)  Apparently, I can either have very too large or slightly too tight, and there is nothing in between.

I am, honestly, very fine with pants are baggy.  Let's spend some time there.

I have to say that this made me laugh very hear.  Maybe my activity tracker is getting the picture?

Interestingly, here in the GTA, spring is a bit longer than in MN, so, not quite, Buson, which is why I will actually get to wear the jeans a few times!

There have been new additions to the wall of stuff in the building where I live in MN, but I did not get to focus on all of them because there is some hilarious sense my downstairs neighbors have so that any time I am looking at or taking pictures of these canvases, they MUST come out into the hallway, even at, for example, 2 AM.  It is now a running joke in my life.

Yay, books!  But I can't read all the time, and I need to really try to start figuring out what's next.

Trying to get better at this.  My brain sure does remember and hold onto when things were different and capacities were larger, and that is physically detrimental. (And apparently also mentally detrimental, who knew?)

I can't capture this in a picture, but these trees appear blurry to me for some reason, like they're always moving out of the corner of my eye.  They are very lovely!

Look, I'm used to the beige maple keys from the Midwest.  I don't remember ever seeing pink ones.  Does anyone know what they are?

I can't tell you about that, but I CAN tell you about the music of squirrels in the wall until Dad comes in and slams his fist sideways into the wall where the music is coming from, and then you hear the panic music of a squirrel falling down the wall, and then you later smell the terrible music of a squirrel that died next to the HVAC vent.  So, that's probably NOT what Basho is talking about.

Parallel Parking, Bonelessness, and Decorative Flowers and Blood Splotches

Find out how happy my toilet was to see me come home!

I was finally able to see some friends I didn't get to see last time!  I saw them the day I got home!  And the day I left to pick up the thing I left at their house and had been losing my mind searching my house for . . .  And I parallel parked correctly for the 8th time in my life!!!  Clearly this was going to be a good visit.

#OrWhereYourCarParallelParksInTheGreatWideOpenFree

There was a perfect deck draping day, which I spent draped on my hammock.  Once again, I thought some mean things about the downstairs neighbor who I assumed had started smoking again, and, once again, it was Canada being on fire.  I spent the next few days having lung problems and singing bass and apologizing to my neighbor in my head.

Then it was a couple doctor appointments and off to training in the middle of nowhere.  There were SO MANY windmills!!!!  It was very cool.  The windmills and the middle of nowhere and the fun training place.  If you zoom in on this ceiling panel, you can see it's made of pressed flowers!

Not so much the hotel.  It did have the best water pressure of any hotel I've ever stayed in.  But this faucet had two settings: freezing and you should probably have that looked at at urgent care.

I kept getting this message while I was in the US.  Canada followed me home to censor my Facebook!  I wonder when / if that will change, so I can once again see my past.  : D

There was a SECOND perfect deck draping day that corresponded with a day off, and I spent it (mostly) on the hammock.  Between visits from the AC people and the plumber getting bad news.  #AHomeLeaveMiracle

I saw my magic chiropractor at home.  He did NOT do the same thing he did last time that let me not be in terrible pain for a whole week.  : (  He tried some other things, and we discussed how maybe it's not a BAD thing that my leg and foot are so screamy.  I offhandedly said I'd just be walking all over the place everywhere seeing everything if it weren't hurting (as if that was a positive thing), and he gently reminded me that overenthusiastic walking is what caused my leg to give out in the first place, so if I'm meant to be resting and recovering here on my Great Canadian Adventure, it might be good that something is keeping me from repeating that mistake.  #IWouldPreferItToBeSelf-disciplineInsteadOfTerriblePain  #IfAnyoneWasWondering

It just seems unfair that other people get to walk all over the place everywhere all the time without being in horrible pain or having their knees bend sideways.

Enjoy your joints that only bend in the correct directions and your legs if they let you walk around however much you need to, friends!

Routines, Tea, and Trousers

This week, I'm generally getting into a good rhythm right before I blow it all up with a trip back home.

I've actually not been doing as well with napping regularly.  I've been onsite more for work, which makes falling asleep without destroying myself in various ways impossible.  I've also been doing all the healthcare trying to encourage my foot and leg and everything else to calm down before people come up to visit me.  12.5 hours + a week.  #VeryReadyForEverythingToCalmDownAndStopScreaming

#AuldLangeSIN

We had a town hall at work with snacks, and the snacks were basically high tea!!!!  Sans tea, but who cares!  Super fun and tasty!  #Don'tAskWhichOfTheseThingsIAmSupposedToBeAvoiding  #BecauseIt'sAllOfThem  #TheTasteOfRegretIsSweetForAWhile

When I go home this time, I will have some clothes waiting to try on.  Wide-legged stuff is in fashion and has been for a bit, so I'm going to see if I can find some things that are wide enough to go over my knee brace without causing problems.  I still hate leggings and very fitted pants, and they have been my life for the last 4+ years due to the knee brace and my fragile skin which requires a layer between it and the brace or it just rips and then takes forever to heal, which means I can't really walk.  So.  #TrustingInTrousers  #IHaveATerribleSuccessRateWithOnlineTrousers  #StayTuned

In Which I Finally See Cherry Blossoms (Which Are Mostly Dead)

Yes, finally. Finally we see cherry blossoms.  Probably.  And past peak bloom.  But we see them.

But first.  I don't know what my phone does all day or all night while it is sitting in my 600 square foot unit, but apparently it astral projects or something because every time I pick it up, it says this.

Look turtles!  And ducks!  And (not pictured) a small child exuding heavy Tiny Toon Adventures Elmyra vibes as she chased the terrified wildlife around the small garden park.  When she had them trapped on the roof, she crooned, "I want you, baby," as the squirrels and I exchanged Looks. Stay safe, squirrels.

There they are!  Maybe.  These were a different kind than what I'm used to.  For all I know they're some other plant altogether.  I don't care.  Pink.  Blossoms.  Sakura.

I have no idea what this enthusiastically frilly tree is, but I am probably allergic to it, and look at that blue sky!

This smells absolutely amazing.

There are kind of no words, but, wow.

#Snort

Drunk on spring, I next went to the main event (a couple days later).  High Park.  Way past peak bloom for most of the trees.  Blocked off roads, so long limp there, around, and back.

Since this would 100% have been me at this age, I can throw no stones.  Also, she's not climbing any of the sakura trees, so bonus points.  #AdultSupervisionPresent

#Cardinal #ForOlderSisterWhoHasNeverUnderstoodWhyHalfMyPicturesContainBirdsAndNotPeople

Look, a heron!  Or a crane!  Or some other long bird that stabs things!

And some swan and a couple of Canadian Geese in their native land.

How fleeting is the beauty.  How long is the walk back up the hill to the entry.  Why does Toronto hate people with mobility issues so much?

Funny story.  I had nearly made it back to the entryway when a random stranger stopped me to ask, "Are you pregnant?"  I  . . . have no idea why this person A) did this or B) thought this was an appropriate question to ask a random stranger?  I mean, yes, I was wearing a winter raincoat and sweating to death (you're welcome, Toronto, because my sacrifice of comfort held off the rain until I got back to the transit station), but I don't know that that should prompt random pregnancy-related questions?

She was a small woman, so I didn't say, "Were you going to offer to carry me the rest of the way up the hill to the entrance if I said yes?"  #AlsoIDidn'tThinkOfThatUntilLater
#TheRaincoatOfDeathInQuestion #IfItRainedIHadToHaveSomethingThatCoveredMyKneeBrace

Ran home to change into pool PT clothes and grab pool gear.  This is the one time in the entire day I was going to be back in my unit during the 9-5 possible cleaning time.  100%ChanceThatWouldBeWhenHouskeepingCame #Sigh

#HumidHairFunAtThePool

When I finally got home from that, I synced up my activity tracker with my phone that lives in the unit.  I don't check first thing in the morning because I don't want it to be the boss of me, but oops.

I, uh, didn't see that before I did (waves hand at high park and physical therapy) this:
Please note all the hilarious math errors on my activity tracker.  This is why I can't take it totally seriously.

Instead of resting the next day, I decided to obtain quiche and walk past a bunch of trees I had been looking at while I drove by.

Yes, Basho, THIS!!  This is what I was seeking.  That cloud that settles around it when the wind dies down.  Those lovely moments when the breeze blows the scent to you from trees you can't see.

#SunriseIsUnrealisticDude

Hope your days contain some beauty in sight, smell, and deed!
